All is set for FULafia 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Convocation Ceremony this February.

The management of Federal University Lafia, Nasarawa state have concluded plans and arrangement for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th convocation ceremony of the institution which is scheduled to hold from 5th - 15th February, 2020.

CONVOCATION ACTIVITIES

Activities Lined Up for the Convocation ceremony include Special Church Service, Juma'at Prayers, Press Briefing by VC, Commissioning of project, departmental exhibition, Convocation lectures, and award of Degrees, Prizes and conferment of honorary degrees amongst others.

  • Start: 5th February, 2020.
  • End: 15th February, 2020. (See Flier below for more details on activities)


All graduating students are mandated to participate in the academic procession fully dressed in the approved academic gowns. Graduating students are also enjoined to pay appropriate fees early in order to obtain the academic gown on time.

FULafia 2019/2020 Admission List and Registration Procedures For All New Student

The management of Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa state have released the detailed registration procedures for all newly admitted student for the 2019/2020 academic session scheduled to start on Monday 27th January, 2020.

How Do I Check the 2019/2020 FULafia Admission list?

If you have been expecting to see a long list of admitted names known as the admission list, unfortunately, there is none!
The new technology being adopted by FULafia now is to check your status on the school portal using your JAMB registration number before you can proceed with the generation of RRR number for the payment of acceptance fee which marks the beginning of the registration process for all new students.

Detailed FULafia Registration Procedure for all newly Admitted Students.

  1. Check Your
    Status: Visit https://ecampus.fulafia.edu.ng/putme and check your admission status. 
  2. Accept the admission: within the stipulated deadline (1 week) and pay the Acceptance Fee. All RRR MUST be generated on the portal. Payment could be made online on the portal or at any commercial bank. See the details below.
  3. Clearance & Verification: After you have been cleared by the Bursary, please proceed to your Faculty for Screening and Clearance. The Faculty Officer (FO) can either clear you directly online or give you a Clearance Pin which you would use to clear yourself and proceed to the next stage. If the FO clears you online, you should now proceed to the student portal at https://ecampus.fulafia.edu.ng/login.php. Your Reg. No. is your username and password. However, if the FO gives you the Clearance Pin, then proceed to the admission screening portal at https://ecampus.fulafia.edu.ng/putme to clear yourself. 
  4. Payment of ALL Fees: On the student’s portal, update your profile information and pay for all charges available in the dropdown. DE Students are to select options for DE.
  5. Course Registration: Now click on course registration and register for both first and second semester courses. Print the CRF and proceed to your level adviser for signature and further directives.
  6. Medical Registration: Register with the Medical Unit and collect the medical fitness forms at the take-off site
  7. Library Registration: Register with the Library and collect the Library Card.
  8. Student Affairs Registration: Register with the Student Affairs Division at the Take-Off Site.
  9. Academic Affairs Documentation: Present a copy of all your receipts, signed CRF and photocopies of your credentials at the Academic Affairs.
  10. ID Card: Get captured for Student Identification Card at the Permanent Site.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Immediately after a successful payment, you would receive a receipt of payment from Remita. ALL payments must be initiated from the portal. 
For any RRR not generated from the school portal (https://ecampus.fulafia.edu.ng/login.php) it would not be recognized by the portal automatically and it would be difficult for any student to continue to the next step after such payment. But if you choose an option to pay online via MasterCard, you would automatically be redirected to a page where you can continue your registration after successful payment. However, if you choose to pay via other options, you would have to log in again to your portal and click on "Verify Payment Made" then your payment would be instantly verified, before you can continue with your registration. The receipt of all your payments are also downloadable on your portal.

Federal University of Lafia to start Medicine, Nursing, 16 Other Degree Programmes

FULafia has gotten the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence Medicine, Nursing and 16 Other Degree Programmes in the institution starting from the 2019/2020 academic session.

Last year, the school management had received a surgeon and consultant Prof. K.D.T Yawe who had visited the school to inspect available facilities as well as readiness of the institution to start new programmes such as Medicine where he expressed satisfaction with the facilities on ground.

The former governor of the state, Senator Tanko Almakura had also donated the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia to the University to be used as a Teaching Hospital for the School of Medicine.

A letter dated January 20, 2020 with reference No. NUC/AP/F29/VOL.1/50 signed by Dr. N. B. Saliu, the Director of Academic Planning Department of the National Universities Commission, stated that all the programmes should bear only the approved titles and nomenclatures approved by the NUC.

The letter, however, stated that any title change that may be desired by the university must be approved by the Commission.

The 18 new programmes approved to start from the 2019/2020 academic session are as follows:
  1. Integrated Science Education, B.Ed.
  2. Biology Education, B.Sc. Ed.
  3. Mass Communication, B.Sc.
  4. Psychology, B.Sc.
  5. Computer Science Education, B.Sc. (Ed.)
  6. Mathematics Education, B.Sc. (Ed.)
  7. Radiography, B.Sc.
  8. Nursing, BNSc.
  9. Arabic Studies, B.A.
  10. Hausa Language, B.A.
  11. Physics Education, B.Sc. (Ed.)
  12. Chemistry Education, B.Sc. (End.)
  13. Business Administration, B.Sc.
  14. Accounting, B.Sc.
  15. Christian Religion, B.A
  16. Islamic Studies, B.A
  17. Geography, B.Sc.
  18. Medicine, MBBS.
New and aspiring Students can now apply for these courses through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and get admitted.

Joe White (real name Joseph Success) is a student of Computer Science at Federal University Lafia, and also a poet with a passion for writing. He is also involved in everything that has to do with Arts and Culture.

"You shall hear from me" is a poetry piece dedicated to 3 of his friends who fell by the wayside (more details when you listen to the audio below) and was released yesterday 18th April, 2018 as he (Joe White) added another year to his age. Students Affairs Division of Federal University, Lafia gets Acting Dean

The Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Muhammad Sanusi Liman, has appointed Dr. Kyegh Avo Thaddeus as Dean of Students’ Affairs Division.
Kyegh became the first full-time FULafia staffer to head the division as others who headed it were workers on sabbatical to FULafia from other universities.

The Student’s Affairs Division was established to prepare students on campus to successfully earn their career goal in life. The division orientates students on effective study habit and coping with challenges after graduation, enlightens them on repercussion of examination misconduct and managing emotions for peak performance. Speaking, Kyegh stated that the division had mobilised 119 pioneer students for the National Youth Service Corps, Batch B 2016, which was in line with the mandate of creating opportunities to students to realise and develop their potentials.

FULAFIA Remedial/Pre-Degree (Science and French) FIRST AND SECOND Admission List 2016/17 is out

Federal University, Lafia has released the list of successful candidates admitted into the Pre-degree Science/French and Remedial Science/French programmes for the 2016/17 session.

Successful candidates are expected to come along with the original copies of their credentials to Room 14 at the Permanent Site, Makurdi Road, Lafia, from December 19, 2016.

If you applied or know someone who applied for the FULAFIA Pre-degree Science or Remedial Science/French programmes, then you can check your admission status on the Admission Status page on the school website.

Update: 2016/2017 SECOND Admission List for the Pre-Degree and Remedial (Science & French) was also released today 04th January 2017.
